On the third day, the group took the subway to the end of Tiananmen Square and then walked over to the Temple of Heaven. At one point we had to walk through a street that had many buildings in traditional Chinese architecture. The weird thing was that all of these building were empty.
The Temple of Heaven is in a huge park. In the Park there are several historical sites and many locals doing various activities. These activities seem to be a trend in all parks in China. People are taking dance lessons, playing cards and badminton and pretty much having a good time. The Temple of Heaven itself is large and impressive, the roof has brilliantly blue tiles and the whole thing was built with out any nails.
